OUR HISTORY
Bethel AME Church was founded in ….
-
Sunday worship - 9:30AM
Join us each Sunday for an uplifting hour~ish of worship filled with songs, prayers, and a message that connects God’s Word to everyday life.
Our sermons offer practical lessons to help us live with HOPE in this world and our fellowship reminds us that we are never alone on the journey.
Dress how you feel comfortable—formal “church clothes” are not required to feel like you fit-in. And, formal church clothes will not make you stand out—wear what you like!
We have a small nursery for adults to sit with babies, if desired. We keep it clean, stocked with diapers and wipes, and a few baby toys.
For older children we offer Children’s Moments with the pastor, coloring sheets, and a snack bag.
We do not mind movement and noise in the worship—the children are welcome, too!

HOSPITALITY
HOSPITALITY is the intentional act of creating space where others feel seen, valued, and safe to belong.
At Bethel (the house of God) , we believe that everyone belongs. People from all walks of life gather together to worship, pray, study and serve while having fun!
We are a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled community where worship is alive, faith is growing, and love is shared.
Whether you are seeking hope, healing, fellowship, or simply a place to call home, Bethel AME Church is GOD’S church and the doors of our heart are open to you.
Come as you are, discover God’s purpose for your life, and find your place in a community that is making a difference. At Bethel AME Church, there is truly a place for you.

OUTREACH - Nursing Home Worship - 2nd Sunday 2PM
At Bethel, we believe no one should ever feel forgotten. Through our Nursing Home Worship Ministry, we bring church to residents in a local care facility, sharing God’s love through uplifting songs, scripture, prayer, and words of encouragement. After service we share a brief dessert fellowship giving us the opportunity to chat with the residents more personally.
We offer pastoral care to residents upon request, remember birthdays of those who attend the service, and provide small tokens of love for Christmas.
-
prayer Tuesday 11am
We believe that prayer works! Join us for prayer, drop your prayer request in the prayer basket on Sunday morning, and/or send in your prayer requests by email, voicemail, text, or on FB inbox.
Also, the pastor is always willing to set a time with you for personal conversation and prayer.

ENCOURAGEMENT
“Fellowship” is where faith meets friendship!
Each Sunday the Lunch Bunch picks a local restaurant to share a meal (on your own) and laughter.
Second Sundays we stay at the church with our favorite dishes, celebrating birthdays, and enjoying each other.
Throughout the year we gather for activities and go on outings. We are always open for suggestions—got an idea? Let’s plan it!
-
Living Life - Grief Group - Tuesdays 12PM-2PM
Sponsored by Geisinger Hospice, we host weekly sessions of sharing and building friendships through guided conversations, activities, and outings.
Bethel members also volunteer to provide community grief memorial services and events.

H.O.P.E. for a Hurting world
In a hurting world, we choose to live as a people of hope—welcoming with grace, serving with love, praying with purpose, and lifting one another daily.
We are a people of Hospitality.
We make room for everyone—with grace. We welcome as Christ welcomed us, that God may be praised. (Romans 15:7)
We are a people of Outreach.
We serve others in love, doing all things with hearts wide open. Love is our mission. (1 Corinthians 16:14)
We are a people of Prayer.
We seek God’s presence, wisdom, and help—for ourselves and for others. We lift voices in faith and gratitude. (1 Timothy 2:1)
We are a people of Encouragement.
We build each other up, reminding one another we are never alone. We speak life and walk together.
(1 Thessalonians 5:11)
